Recorded in the heart of the Mojave Desert by Denise Tanguay (Acoustic Guitar, Lead Vocals), Susan Kearns (Bass, Backing Vocals), Cat Celebrezze (Tenor Saxophone, Keyboards, Backing Vocals), and Jessica Berryhill (Drums), the music wraps rocking grit around an acoustic soul. With down and dirty grooves (“On My Way”) and atmospheric jams (“Bloom”), the album delivers snaky tenor sax solos, ethereal paeans to the desert night sky, and a carnivalesque tribute to Tanguay’s grandmother, the band’s eponymous hero.
